i think i don't see everything as recklessness and more as "it's possible to recorrect and salvage what you're doing." but that is just me. that is a pretty cool goal though.

Again, I don't think I agree with your logic. Just because being practical hasn't worked thus far doesn't mean that we should suddenly become *impractical*. Logic is logic. The conclusions being wrong doesn't make the method itself wrong.
