No, my phone triggers the transformation. I received an app different from Retrospec a couple of months ago.

But I didn't have the gun until I had him. I guess he's the one who summons that?

Like you open it and the whole thing lets you transform? That is an upgrade from what I'm used to hearing. A little weird that your egg gives you a gun though. Can you make him appear and disappear like your phone, too?

I'm not entirely sure where he goes? But he spends most of the time gone like that, and he either suddenly reappears on his own, or when I'm thinking about him he shows up.

That might not be such a bad thing sometimes. Even if it is kind of a bummer to remember people but not be able to see them. [Jade. Vriska. Jake. Jane. People he remembers but doesn't know if he'll ever meet in the first place.] But a magical girl team sounds about right.
