But we were learning about plants in school and the...um, what's it called? Photo-something? Don't they need sun?
[Is it even still possible to potentially get sunburnt out while this dome thing is here? Not that this is a huge concern in winter but. Still. Sakura can't help but wonder on all this.]
I'm....trying. Figuring them out. I'm not sure how many cards there are all up yet, but. There's got to be a limit to how high this goes. If it is like a dome sort of shape. Right?
Photosynthesis. Which yes, that is definitely a thing because they take the sun and make their own food and chemicals and stuff. But then again, maybe science does not apply here. Think about the chocobos.
[There's a nod.] ...if you want, we can go together to see where the top caps out. I can spot you just in case things get a little dangerous up there.
That! That one, yes! That's what I was thinking of. Although the app has done a lot of strange things so I suppose we should just be glad if the plants and crops aren't being destroyed from this. I'm not sure if it goes on much longer though.....?
[Maybe they just hadn't seen the consequences yet since the thing only just went up a few hours ago probably? Hard to say quite yet. Still, Sakura glances up above them, pursing her lips for a moment before giving a nod.]
Maybe the top has an opening or something if we make it. Worth a try, right?
Definitely worth a try. [And he starts to ascend, waiting for her to follow and not going too fast so she can keep up.] I do wonder how long this thing's going to exist. Usually weird stuff only takes them a month at the most to fix but this looks more like they are purposefully preventing something. It's winter, so I think a lot of the plants are safe anyway since they're not flourishing in the snow, but it's the rest of us you have to wonder about.
Not to get all philosophical and whatever, but how are we still here?
You really think this could be up all month? I'm not sure if trying to....pop or cut it might be a good idea or not.
[Musing half to him and half to herself, as she rises, using her staff to raise herself higher to nearer the top of the dome, hand outstretched instinctively the higher she gets, the closer she gets to it.]
How? Well. It's just blocking out the sun. So we might manage for a while at least, without it? Especially if the crops and all seem alright so far.
I cannot guarantee it. The most I could maybe find out is what it will be like in a few weeks and even then it's risky. [They're rising further and further, the ground very far below as they near the tip of the dome.]
We'll be fine if we don't panic. And if we don't let everybody else panic either. You know? We have to work together to make this work no matter what the dome's going to do to us.
Hm. I hope it isn't up too long at least. But I'm sure if we work together, we'll figure it out. Or if we can't, we just give them time to work on it and sort it out.
[Like Retrospec did with most every other weird thing that happens around here now. Sakura suspects regardless of how much they figure about this dome thing, they were probably already working on how to get rid of it. Not that it was the best weather anyway, but that meant she missed the sun that much more. Especially right now. She reaches out a hand as they get closer, her fingers just touching the top of the dome.]
[It's a light tough and the dome ripples under her fingers, John watching these proceedings carefully and examining what he can.]
...did you see that? [And he uses his own hand to touch the dome as well, watching it move beneath his hand.] It's, like, pulsating. I'm all for letting Retrospec figure out their own mess but that is still a little weird.
Pulsating? Hm. I'm not sure if it's just rubber or something else. Probably best to leave it and let them fix it though? I just wondered how high up, or if there was some sort of opening at the top maybe.
[Or. Something more than just getting this much to go back to tell others. This doesn't feel as helpful as she might have figured. Still. At least they tried.]
This seems to be about where we can go. But you might be right. If it's not actually hurting us, we can leave it alone for the time being and let them fix it. Maybe someone else will have better answers.
[Preferably before something happens with the weather or dome that makes being up here all the more risky as it is. She gives a nod, reluctant though she is to admit this didn't find them as much new or helpful as she might have hoped on.]
