I was kind of too busy making out with you to really register what you were saying I guess. [Also he wasn't sure and he was awkward but he's less awkward now two months later, so.]

Oh what the fuck. [ that's pretty much whispered in exasperation and then. whatever. he's just going to kiss john.

you don't just hear someone say something like that and then proceed to not kiss them, that's impossible. ]

[Oh. Okay. That works out then and he's just falling right into that kiss since why the fuck not?

[ true or not it's heartbreakingly sweet, spare dave...everything...

he probably could have just broken his rules and kissed john in the bed. but he just continues leaning back against his desk, tugging john closer so he can lean against dave if he wants.

they should go the fuck to sleep? and yet. ]

[No, fuck sleep, this is better and more important. He's pliant and easy to move and he leans against Dave and keeps them up against the desk before adjusting the blankets and his hands, pulling them as close together as possible to keep kissing him.

It's bordering desperate and needy and sweet despite the fact it's only been a few weeks since their last 24 hours or less together. But you know, it's fine. There's a content sort of sigh though.]

[ only a few weeks, like they were handling that at all well. stares at their thousand odd text messages in the timeframe they were split up.

desperate and needy and sweet is fine, and dave can match that pace. but he's shifting again, his hand trying to find john's in the stupid blanket cocoon that he's enforcing. ]

[This is how boyfriends work, apparently. The cocoon is mostly because he was kind of still exhausted but this is waking him up anyway so part of the blankets drop as he grips onto Dave's hand and his free hand finds Dave's waist to hold onto. They'll probably be here for a while, or at least as long as Dave will let him. He's not moving away anytime soon.]

[ dave is ruining john's sleep schedule. he is also 100% not stopping these activities, fuck you, he missed john. he laces the fingers of his left hand through john's and lets his right hand just cup john's cheek stupid gentle and relaxes into kissing john.

considering he once stopped time for a fairly solid chunk on new year's just to kiss his boyfriend he's not super great at keeping track of time beyond the obvious? dave's perfectly aware of how much time he is wasting with john. he just doesn't feel like it's a waste.

and now he's smiling, and it's stupid, and he's probably going to laugh because he's tired but he's happy. ]

[See this is where time and breath are dangerous. Dave would stop the world solely to keep kissing John, and John doesn't really have to pull away to breathe and that means there's no reason for him to break the kiss either. So here they are. They're holding hands and Dave's mouth is on his and he's shivering a little when Dave's other hand moves against his face.

It's dumb. Everything is dumb and it feels right again. The hand at Dave's hip shifts and his thumb rubs a slow and steady circle just to give his hands something to do while his lips part.

It's also been a few weeks since he's frenched his boyfriend, so let him live a little.]

[ john might not have to breathe but dave has to, still. that remains a problem they have not quite solved, unless john figures out how to share his stupid breathing prowess with someone else. but even when he pulls away dave pushes back almost immediately, and when john parts his lips he just takes his cue and copies the motion, and this time he's actually way less awkward and frazzled about sliding his tongue into john's mouth so hey we're learning things!!! ]
