One of my best friends; he's Russian and blond and kinda short. [ dave is 5'10" and most people are "kinda short" to him. ] ...And I never have plans I can't move around.

But probably you will, yeah. I lived with him before I moved in here and we still hang out a bunch. You'll for sure meet Anya, she's friendly. I know some people in college, too - I mean, Anya and Yuri are both in high school still.

I do. It's in the student lot since it made more sense for me to have it here than sit in the driveway for four years.

[He seems to be listening, mostly because he's curious about Dave's friends.] I don't think there is anything wrong with having high school friends. We were sort of just in high school, so it makes sense. I have a feeling I will be meeting a lot of people but I wouldn't mind if you wanted...[Don't say that, idiot.] Yeah. It'll be nice to meet them, I think.

If you wanted to hang out with them alone or whatever. I could take off and give you space? Or I can just give you my work schedule if that's easier.

You don't have to worry about your schedule conflictin' with anything I do, ever. [ AGAIN: HE JUST BULLSHITS HIS WAY AROUND PEOPLE'S SCHEDULES... ]

I ended up with a job at the movie theater downtown? I've been in town for a few weeks and started getting everything lined up so I would be set before classes even start.

Flix? I work there, too. I mean, it's one of my jobs. [ and he takes too many shifts to...work...at other ones?

Yeah, that! [There's a small laugh.] How many jobs do you have? Should I be worried about that?

[But then Dave says something like that and John pauses.] ...don't think this is weird, but. I really do want to be friends even if I think you are a very confusing person sometimes.

I get that a lot. [ REALLY MILDLY SAID, LIKE... ] About bein' confusing.

Maybe I'll see you durin' a shift or two, then. But if you want to put your schedule on...a calendar we should get, I'll try not to be a pain.

I will probably get used to it. [But there's a shake of his head.] Let's be honest with ourselves, if we had a calendar would we even use it? And anyway we are supposed to share space and I do not mind most people. I doubt you'll be a pain either way.

Honestly, no? I don't need a calendar. [ he's the goddamned knight of time. he doesn't even need a watch. ] If you tell me your schedule, I'll remember it.

I won't know my work schedule until each week which I think you will learn, too, if we are working at the same place, but I can give you my class schedule. Most of them are in the mornings.

What classes are you takin', anyway? [ wonder if there's overlap? DAVE DOESN'T BOTHER...to offer his own work schedule because he can be found during it anyway. ]

[windeity]

I wanted to get most of my general courses out of the way? So Freshman English, my gen ed courses...stuff that's not going to fuck me over if I change my mind later. It was the best way to do it. [A headtilt.] I won't be surprised if we share some of those, too.

Probably? I took some non-generals. Mostly artistic shit, but also math shit. I'm doing pottery?

[windeity]

I have a few non-generals to break up the cycle or I think I might lose my mind? [...] Why pottery? I'm not really up and up on art stuff ever since I broke our 3D printer at school.

I promised Kurt we'd do a class together and that's what we picked. [ neither of them will be good at it??? ]

[windeity]

[A slow nod.] Okay then.

[He turns then to grab his keys, putting down his laptop to head for the door.] Are you coming?

[parodeity]

Yeah, yeah.

[ he doesn't visibly grab anything because he keeps everything in his sylladex usually, keys and all, but dave makes sure he has his shoes and a light jacket, because he's a wimp in cold weather. ]

[windeity]

[That's fine. John's going to lead them out of the dorm and down to the student lot then to where his car's sitting. Surprisingly it's not blue/grey. It's a weird beige kind of color and the car itself is a few years old. But he's unlocking the door and opening the driver's side to let Dave crawl into the passenger seat.

The car's also very clean? And also there's definitely an air freshener hanging from the rearview mirror. There's a CD binder on the floor and a AUX plug-in so he can hook up his phone to play music. There's also a blanket in the backseat? It's fine.]

...it's also occurred to me I have absolutely no idea where I am going to get a fridge.

[ yeah okay dave and his skinny jeans and sneakers will crawl over the seat with minimal issues.
