i wonder why. maybe we get memories of the other versions of us in chronological order or something? can memories even choose a timeline to show up? i know when i think about my own memories they are scattered across ages.

Maybe. But 'misery loves company' never really worked for me. It doesn't make me feel better. I just end up feeling sad everyone else is also miserable.
