Of course I want your help. [He's slowly figuring out that Dave pretty much just wants to be involved with stuff John's doing musically and he has zero problem with that.] My remixes are kind of shitty, you're better at balancing than I am, I think.

Oh, is there a process to your editing process? I was starting to think you just sort of threw stuff together and somehow it worked. [Somehow since the Narukamis' party he's found himself more willing to relax around him. Wild.]

I will have you know it is a very complex process of throwin' spaghetti at a wall and then makin' goddamn art.

You should definitely teach me this complex process then. I will try to keep up, but you may need to be patient.

[But he's rolling his eyes before he grins and looks at the screen again.] I definitely lost track of the plot. If there was one.

There's always a plot. It's just, like...honestly? It's what felt most fun. Like, look here - Fuyu and I fell through the bridge, right? After her special attack. And I dunno, it made the cut because it was fun.

Good point. When I was trying to make films for a while we never really took things seriously either. Half the time it was all improv anyway? But it has been a while since I bothered. I'm better with sound than direction, apparently.

That's because you don't make plans really?

I make plans all the time! I am doing research for Tuuri's movie, does that not count as a plan?

That counts as music. Entirely different subject?

You don't think music takes planning?

I didn't say that. I said that music is totally different for you. You'll focus and plan there, where you might say "fuck it" elsewhere.

Well that is because music is more important? Everything else I can kind of figure out along the way and oh my god, that is your point, isn't it.

I am glad to know my lack of planning is actually a good quality. [He rolls his eyes.] C'mon. It's still your turn to do the commentary. Let's focus on this or Tuuri's movie is not going to be as great as it can be.
