Sounds like a good list to me. [But he's still on the bed and he's just kind of pouting.] ...do we have to pack now?

Yes. Then we can spend the rest of the time we have just hanging out, and not have to rush it.

[...okay, okay, off the bed he's going and he's on his feet, moving over to where Dave is and draping over him. Or like. As best as he can when Dave's two inches taller.] A good last night together before we head off to wherever the fuck?

[ yeah that might make it a little harder? ] Or a good last afternoon, anyway.

Thennn we should plan something good for our last good afternoon together for a while. Packing seriously will not take long.

What would you consider to be "something good"?

A date? We did movies last weekend but we can go somewhere else or we can just...stay in again. Since we'll be gone for a while, I mean.

[parodeity]

[ a visible pause, as he takes a breath and recalibrates. ]

I mean. [ the stupid reminder to be honest is in the back of his head, even though john didn't offer an opinion himself. ] ...I would prefer to stay in with you, if we'll be gone a while.

[ it sounds dragged out of him, reluctant, because more than anything he wants to say whichever you prefer. ]

What do you want to do?

...order a pizza and not leave bed until we have to? If that's cool. I like that plan a lot.

[ crooked smile, too fast. ] Yeah, that sounds fine. But pack first.

[windeity]

I'll call and start packing, okay? By the time it gets here we should be done.

Get one side with everythin'?

Everything everything? That is a lot, dude.

Or whatever you want works?

[He grins and he turns to call in the food, ordering a large pizza half-pepperoni and half everything as requested before he hangs up and moves to start packing. Like. Not before he moves to kiss Dave's cheek but after that it's packing time.]

[ there's just dave's startled but fond quick smile - familiar but maybe not just yet - before he starts packing himself, going mentally through a list of everything he'd wanted to have when he was stuck in space. ]

[Everything immediately gets thrown into his 'dex in a haphazard manner and John's maybe not really paying attention to what he's doing anyway. Clothes, toothpaste, boxers, who gives a fuck? He has bigger priorities and when it's all said and down and the last item (first aid supplies) are packed away he returns to where Dave is and if he's still standing he'll hug him from behind.]

[ dave's being less haphazard BEING STUCK IN SPACE WITH NOTHING BUT WHAT HE HAD ON HIM FOR A CONVENTION MEANT TO LAST A FEW HOURS AT THE TIME TRAINED HIM OKAY

but his left hand shifts up to touch the arms at his middle and he tilts his head like he's listening. ]

...Well what? You seem to have somethin' in mind.

Maybe a little? [He's up on his toes to kiss Dave's face again anyway.] Food will be here soon...and you and I are totally alone and splitting up for a while, realistically, so...

So...? [ dave's eyebrows go up as he prompts john to finish...whatever john is going to do.

sometimes it's best to just let john get to his point rather than to assume where he's going to end up. ]
