[ dave's grip on john's knee tightens, but there's no other sign of the quiet distress and disquiet he's starting to feel in the back of his head. there aren't many people he lets into his personal space zone willingly at all. there's no one else he lets this close for obvious reasons. but it's not like he hasn't gone years at a time without being touched, so it's...fine, maybe.

he stops kissing slow and presses into john harder anyway. ]

[He won't notice any kind of discomfort or anything if Dave's keeping his pokerface, but the grip tightens and there's a very quiet sort of moan against Dave's mouth even when he presses in harder and John's trying not to topple them over. He won't pull further but he'll keep up the pace and the kissing turns a little needier all the same.]

[ it's less about kissing john and more about well fuck not going to see john again for some indeterminate amount of time, anyway. at least there seems to be no particular chance of toppling just yet, since dave's pretty solidly planted into the ground, stance steady, but the way he kisses is less steady and more like an uncertain goodbye. if he kisses john hard enough maybe it'll last however long it has to.

he knows already it won't. ]

[He's not thinking that far ahead because he's hoping maybe time will freeze again like new years, but he knows that was a Dave thing and not a life cutting them some slack thing. He's pliant and quiet under Dave's touch and his hand runs from Dave's hair down the back of his neck, a hitch in his breath as he moves his tongue over Dave's in a move that's more daring than usual.

His grip tightens on Dave's hand. He uses his knees to gently trap Dave between his legs and that's just how that's going to go.]

[ more daring than usual in this direction is, apparently, fine. dave makes zero objections to john trapping him (he doesn't usually except to point out it's happening or tease john, these days) and john sliding his tongue against dave's is...a weird-good feeling and dave had never frenched people That often before but he likes it.

he's more willing to experiment if john's sliding them along a little further and so he copies the move before just going off on his own, adding teeth lightly because he's pretty sure by now john generally approves of teeth and idly rubbing circles on the inside of john's knee with his thumb. ]

[Given there's a surprised, pleased noise that's definitely an approval and he's letting his arm slide to Dave's shoulder to hold him in place. He refuses to let go of Dave's hand (stupidly, maybe) but not long after he fidgets again the pull back and break the kiss.

...for all of ten seconds just to pull his glasses off and toss them onto the desk and immediately dive back in without worrying about pressing wire frames into Dave's face or anything. He picks up where they left off, tongue coaxing Dave's along and more or less straddling Dave's waist while still partially perched on the desk.

He's blatantly aware that despite Dave dating more than he has, he's the one with more physical experience and for once he doesn't even bother thinking about adjusting things to fit a guy or a girl and he's just doing it as is. The world is still turning, sort of, even though it feels still and Dave's solid under his hands and there's a small shiver when he feels Dave's thumb move over the sensitive part of his knee.

Things that aren't fair: the lack of this for who knows how long.]

[ ten seconds not kissing spent laughing at john, basically, breathless and amused and trying not to think about the future beyond this exact moment. it's not like he initiates make out sessions a lot (john more or less asked for this one anyway) but dave usually...has fun. it's hard not to even with the undercurrent of uneasiness about separation. john's...

john. he's too much himself not to smile at least occasionally.

he tries to stop when john moves back again but there's still a huff of laughter against john's lips before dave lets john set the pace of a game of tongue tag.

what the fuck ever. his hand on john's knee slides further up and he starts to pull back, wanting to say something instead. ]

[He's content this way and he's happy with the kiss until he feels Dave moving and he lets him pull his head back, eyes a little unfocused and a pleased little smile on his face even with his lips parted.

He doesn't think to ask "what's wrong" or anything like that since he knows Dave will (maybe) try to tell him but instead he lets his fingers stroke the inside of Dave's wrist to let him speak.]

Awkward request. [ he's always too quiet, and quieter when they're this close, but john's listening so it's fine.

he just

goes quiet after saying that and has to work back up to it. ] Um.

[ he's gonna get there maybe - ]

I want you to, like -

[ no ]

[...he's just blinking in surprise, patiently waiting.]

...to...? [Again with the gentle coaxing because this is still a lot of progress and his mouth's a little dry and his eyes are a little too wide.]

[ way too fast and soft: ] I want you to give me a hickey.

[...he tries not to laugh, but there's a teasing smile as he scoots closer and gives him a brief look.]

...you're sure? [He's 10000% not saying no.]

Shut up? [ muttered but he stops looking at john's chest and lifts his gaze again. purses his lips and tilts his head to the side. ]

[The pose is enough to get him to listen and he nods to himself, smiling again even while he catches Dave's eye. Without his glasses things are a little fuzzy but he can still see this close and he shifts to rest his hands on Dave's shoulders. He's keeping his movements slow anyway just in case Dave hits abort and he keeps it simple, starting off with a small kiss to a place on Dave's neck and working his lips over smooth skin without teeth just yet. If Dave wants a hockey then John will just...kind of draw it out and go for it.]

[ he asked, so dave isn't actually hitting abort. he just makes an impatient noise because he knows they're on a clock. it's followed by a muttered: ] Just make something that lasts, will you?

[ because that's. why he asked.

this is excruciatingly stupid. ]

[There's no verbal reply, but he gets the point and he follows with an audible hum as he scrapes his teeth over the same patch of skin, biting a little to test it out. He keeps the flesh between his front teeth, tugging just a little and letting his fingers splay over the back of Dave's shoulders.]

[ it's not a bad test? dave doesn't flinch away or tense up. he shifts his newly freed hand to tangle in john's hair and lets his other hand remain on john's thigh, a little cautious but kind of secure in the fact he won't get shoved away. there's a sigh of either relief or interest. ]

[See this part is weirdly easy. It's easy and he's kind of overly elated that Dave's letting him do this and he keeps his mouth against the same place. The biting stops and he moves his teeth out of the way, fingers kneading lightly into Dave's shoulders and spine as he settles for sucking on his selected spot. It's a steady combo of sucking and kissing and occasionally scraping his teeth over Dave's skin but it's a combination he knows will work even if he doesn't let up from Dave's neck for a while.]

[ there's a sort of helpless laugh. ] I love you so fucking much, holy shit.

[There's a grin against Dave's skin and John doesn't answer because he knows. He knows and he feels it too and instead there's a harder suck in reply as he pulls back to lave his tongue flat against the spot and pull back just enough to answer.]

Yeah, yeah...love you, too. [Overly fond and pleased and a little excited even as he moves to continue leaving a bruise.]

[ the issue with this: it leaves dave's mouth entirely free to run off and he is...dave. ] Feels really good. I don't mind when you use your teeth. I'd rather have you than a mark but I want...you. Why're you always pure adrenaline.

[It helps that his mouth's busy so he can't reply. Instead, he nips at his neck again and keeps himself busy even as his fingers move again to just-very-slightly dip into the collar of Dave's shirt.

So really, fuck if he knows why he's pure adrenaline but he's seemingly a lot less shy about this than he was about their first kiss so go figure.]

[ dave is embarrassing himself but he's terrible at shutting up. he catches john's hand and draws it to his lips instead, a stupid chaste kiss to john's fingertips before he opts to wrap his lips around john's pointer finger on the grounds it might keep him quiet, it might distract john from his diverting john's hands away from touching him differently, and also he just fucking wants to.

john will presumably just stop him if he has to, but until then dave swirls his tongue idly and is a weird nuisance. ]

[It's so hilariously minute and stupid and yet effective in that he bites down harder and there's a slight squeak of a noise when his head registers that Dave's tongue is doing things and he's content to let his imagination take over. His hand's loose so Dave can do as he pleases and his breathing's a little heavier through his nose as he focuses on leaving a big mark and a maybe a smaller one, too. His free hand's tangling up in Dave's hair again and his nose nudges against Dave's neck, taking his time and pointedly ignoring that literally all of his thoughts are going straight to his dick instead. On the bright side at least they're home and he's controlling himself but Dave's also a great test of his willpower and patience.

...but just out of curiosity, his middle finger of the same hand brushes against Dave's mouth to see if he'll take that one, too.]

[ ...oh, okay, he likes that squeak. that's clearly a reason not to stop, and john's other finger brushes his lips and dave mentally shrugs and shifts to lean in a little, taking in his middle finger, too. why not.

he's kind of aware that sucking his boyfriend's fingers is more than a little suggestive (he's pretty sure he thoroughly distracted john, though) but it's the kind of non-committal suggestive he'd pulled in the closet at work.

he should maybe let john live instead but you know what no. ]
