[ crooked smile, too fast. ] Yeah, that sounds fine. But pack first.

I'll call and start packing, okay? By the time it gets here we should be done.

Everything everything? That is a lot, dude.

[He grins and he turns to call in the food, ordering a large pizza half-pepperoni and half everything as requested before he hangs up and moves to start packing. Like. Not before he moves to kiss Dave's cheek but after that it's packing time.]

[ there's just dave's startled but fond quick smile - familiar but maybe not just yet - before he starts packing himself, going mentally through a list of everything he'd wanted to have when he was stuck in space. ]

[windeity]

[Everything immediately gets thrown into his 'dex in a haphazard manner and John's maybe not really paying attention to what he's doing anyway. Clothes, toothpaste, boxers, who gives a fuck? He has bigger priorities and when it's all said and down and the last item (first aid supplies) are packed away he returns to where Dave is and if he's still standing he'll hug him from behind.]

Well..?

[ dave's being less haphazard BEING STUCK IN SPACE WITH NOTHING BUT WHAT HE HAD ON HIM FOR A CONVENTION MEANT TO LAST A FEW HOURS AT THE TIME TRAINED HIM OKAY

but his left hand shifts up to touch the arms at his middle and he tilts his head like he's listening. ]

...Well what? You seem to have somethin' in mind.

[windeity]

Maybe a little? [He's up on his toes to kiss Dave's face again anyway.] Food will be here soon...and you and I are totally alone and splitting up for a while, realistically, so...

[parodeity]

So...? [ dave's eyebrows go up as he prompts john to finish...whatever john is going to do.

sometimes it's best to just let john get to his point rather than to assume where he's going to end up. ]

[windeity]

Sooo...I was thinking maybe we could just make out a little? I guess? [See when he says it out loud it sounds really stupid.]

[parodeity]

[ ah. okay, so he hadn't read that one wrong. ] Romantic. I feel very wooed.

[ and he's giving john a hard time for no reason, but he shifts to try to get out of john's grip (can't see the guy if john is hugging him from behind) so he can turn and let his own hands fall cautiously to john's waist. ]

[windeity]

Ugh, shut up. I don't know how people ask for this kind of stuff. [But he lets Dave turn and slides his arms up over his shoulders instead to pull him closer.] So?

[Kiss him already.]

[parodeity]

Historically speaking I've just asked and usually gotten scolded for asking. [ not with john, who he hasn't exactly asked for the most part.

instead of kissing john, dave pushes back a little to get john to move...backwards, presumably, until they hit a desk? ]

[windeity]

Okay well you have never asked me and heard a no, have you? [But okay, they're traveling backwards and they're moving and he hits one of the desks, keeping his hands firmly on him.]

[parodeity]

I'd say the same back, but I guess I have told you to knock things off before. [ not exactly since they started dating, save for certain things, but. okay.

his hands tighten their grip and he gives john ample time to shove him off before boosting john onto the desk?

it makes the height differential easier (or kind of admittedly just tips it in john's favor a bit instead) and it's easy to drop his hands to either side of john's legs. ]

...You don't have to ask for permission, though. I'll tell you in advance if I ever want you to like, not. [ he's just. settling himself between john's legs leaning in and eyeing john almost curiously. ]

[windeity]

[He's surprised by the sudden movement but he doesn't object, moving some papers and probably knocking a pen or two on the floor as he settles on the desktop. His knees spread a little so Dave's between them and he gives him an equally curious look, taking a breath before he nods.

(The height advantage helps a lot.)]

...I know. Sometimes I just think it is better to ask, but good to know. [He'll lean a little closer but not quite kiss him yet.] Open invite, then?

[parodeity]

Nope. [ to see what john will do or say, tbh.

but also. after a minute of staring calmly at john to see? ]

For the record, this is special service because it's you. [ he'll reach up to remove his shades, folding them and reaching over to put them on the other desk, neatly. then he'll straighten again, as much as he ever does. his weight is on his hands and leaning against the desk. ] Clear for liffdoff, captain.

[ he pronounces it dumb and throwaway reference, because of course he does. ]

[There's a small laugh because reference received and he scoots a little closer once he sees Dave's eyes.]

Consider me honored. [And that's pretty much all he says because he's tired of talking. He's tired of talking and their food will be here probably in 10 minutes but who cares? Not John! Not John, who's pressing his mouth to Dave's immediately and sighing against his lips before wrapping a hand loosely around one of Dave's wrists, also immediately relaxing and parting his own lips. So here we are.]

[ they're absolutely going to run out of time here, knight of time or no. dave responds easily for whatever that's worth; he doesn't tense up but just leans into the kiss, tilting his head a little more for a better angle and not pressing things further for a minute or two. he's an idiot and it takes him a while to mentally work up the courage to take the open invitation to brush his tongue over john's lips but also he's just not kissing john like there's a time limit. it's quiet and slow on his part. ]

[windeity]

[The lack of tension is enough that he fully relaxes and tries to pull Dave closer onto the desk and between his legs but he's taking Dave's tongue into his mouth and easily leading the kiss a little deeper. It's still slow and careful but it's more out of a need to cherish it than out of caution.

It's progress. He'll take it and his hand grips onto Dave's on the desk either way.]

[ as usual dave just lets john tug him wherever, but he idly twists his wrist out of john's grip and laces their fingers together instead. stop being weird, john. his other hand is still to the other side of john's leg, but he shifts to move it to john's knee instead, tentative and just wanting the contact and nothing more.

a quiet sigh into the kiss and yeah fuck he'll miss this. ]

[He's grasping Dave's hand and he doesn't mind that he's being touched, keeping up the pace of the kiss and keeping contact. John's free hand comes up to thread through the back of Dave's hair and hold his head still and he leans a little to give himself enough support to keep kissing him.

Stupid field trip. Stupid assignments. Stupid, stupid, stupid.]
