first of all, we can ignore that. if your name is ren, your name is ren and that is what i will put on all of the files for people's reference.
can i ask you a few questions about your abilities? most of them are self-explanatory but what do you mean by a sixth sense and telling who is and isn't on the app? like being able to see ghosts and stuff?

thanks. i thought i should mention it because i can't change my username, so any messages would come from a name that might not be familiar.

telling who is and isn't on the app is part of it. i can't see ghosts any better than anyone else, [thanks for the ghosts everywhere and extra spiritual sense retrospec] but i can get a feeling of them, if they're nearby.

it's like a sense of life energy, but it's more than just that. there are different shades to it, and whether someone is on retrospec is apparently one of those shades. it helps that anyone who feels that different from the "usual" is bound to be on the app.

i'll notate that too. i think a few people i know have names on this app that aren't their actual names or what their names are now.
it sounds a little like soul sensing. my boyfriend's brother used to be able to do something like that when he was on the app. he said dirk mentioned it was like souls on the app are a little brighter. sound familiar?

not exactly, though i understand why they'd feel that way to someone else. to me it's like they're more focused or intense. whether they're "brighter" is separate part of it.

i would definitely call that pretty unique even with how many weird powers and abilities all of us are getting.
it'll help us out in cases like this where everyone can see everything and we're left with trying to figure out who's working with us and who's a bystander.

yeah. it has made a lot of things easier in that way.

they've started noticing what's going on, though, this time. i have to wonder if that will stick.

it's weird, maybe, but i sort of hope it does.
we will have to be extra careful but it's a lot less stressful if we aren't trying to hide everything i think.

i agree. even if they couldn't understand it, at least it would be some kind of reassurance that we're living on the same plane of existence.

i think maybe eventually they will catch up. a lot of us keep showing up on the app at different times.
we might just be early.

then do you think they're all like us, only they haven't realized it yet? that all of their souls have come from other universes or whatever it is.

yes. i do, actually. people "wake" at random times. i was in the city for a little bit before i came onto the app. some people live here for years before they wake up. it would just make sense.
the thing i don't know is how it's decided who does and doesn't wake up.

i can't see it as anything other than random. but even if waking up is "caused" by something, i doubt it's because of any one thing we have in common. i don't think it can be that simple.

i don't know if i'd prefer you to be right or wrong. everyone in the city getting memories and items and powers would be chaos. it's complicated enough with only us.

it could be why they're doing it in waves. too many people all at once, the whole city falls into chaos and madness.
and maybe random wasn't the word i want since they seem to have a pattern of trying this every other month. it's like clockwork. systematic.
there has to be something they see in us or "our souls" or whatever that brings us onto the app.
if it helps? i don't know if i prefer to be right or wrong in this case either.

it's one constant in a sea of variables. i'm half expecting that to stop being consistent at some point.

but unfortunately we won't figure out anything about it just by sitting here and discussing it. there are more pressing things to deal with right now.
