[ he'd bicker in the usual friendly way but john kisses him and that matters more than the food or their conversation. dave kisses back immediately but no less gently, one hand covering one of john's in an absent-minded gesture of affection. ]

[What a good backdrop. It's the beach and John and Dave together and he's content to keep the kiss slow. He makes zero moves to pull back, but he shifts to catch his hand. They can stay like this for a while.]
