[ just realized we never threaded out after that Weird Foreign Art Film dave wanted john to take him to so ? eventually that has to happen backdated or something or just they put it off for the future ? even though it's a minute lame thing.

anyway. it's saturday, they're probably just doing movie marathons in their room, dave's likely sprawled in a dumb fashion with his legs crossed and leaning against the wall for some reason and his head on john's stomach and probably the cat on his stomach, and dave gets a weird fucking text and frowns. ]

[Backdate for shore I want more lucy threads. Anyway, here they are and he's half-asleep and he's on-occasion petting Dave's hair while they watch the screen. On the other hand, he focuses when Dave says his name.]

What's up?

[ that would be on the 24th but i can start a toplevel in a lil if you want.

this being john, who frequently IGNORES his IMPORTANT TEXT MESSAGES (they're 98% of the time not important), dave sighs. ]

Check your phone for me?

[I like that this happened already and I will hit that in a sec. However, he gives Dave a Look, unsure of where this is going.]

What? Why? [But he follows directions, shifting to grab his phone and noticing one unread message. He clicks it open and reads it carefully, still confused for a moment.]

...what is this?

[parodeity]

It's the third. [ of the month. he almost sighs, but then he snags john's phone to check the message, and then he really does frown. ] I'm supposed to go to the zoo - we're not together.

[windeity]

...fuck. [It's the third of the month. He doesn't fight Dave for his phone and there's a sympathetic matching frown when he notices Dave realizes the problem.] The woods and the zoo are two very different places.

...we don't...have to go, you know. [Reluctantly, but.]

[ dave just raises his eyebrows in patent disbelief. ]

Okay, so we do. [He sighs heavily.] So this is something like August but with a warning? I'd ask how do we know we can trust it but that does not exactly have a lot of bearing on this, huh?

[parodeity]

Not really. [ he'll shift entirely off of john, though. ] ...We should maybe pack shit, I didn't see a time limit. Ask Rose to catsit if she ain't on a list.

[windeity]

A time limit for how long we'll be gone, you mean? I do not know if Rose is on the list. I didn't even know there was a list in the first place. [He's also not bothering to move.]

[parodeity]

I'll text her and see.

[ he's off the bed and stretching until there's a crack from his back. ]

Sleeping bags. Clothes. First aid kits...

[windeity]

[Nope. Still not moving off of the bed.]

Food and water since we don't know where we're going, too.

[parodeity]

Toothbrushes and toothpaste and whatever.

[ dave pauses his list to text rose. ]

[windeity]

So pretty much everything you would need if you were, like, going to camp or something. That doesn't sound too bad.

[parodeity]

[ a brief crooked smile. ] With any luck it won't be. Oh, some phone charging shit - maybe external stuff...Rose can take Mewpac, she says.

[windeity]

I have an external battery so that should be okay. You're going to drop her off before we leave then?

[parodeity]

Yeah. And her supplies, the cat tower...what else do you think you can't live without?

[windeity]

[He opens his mouth to answer but changes his mind.]

Flashlight might not be a bad idea. Since we have no idea where we're really going.

[parodeity]

Some teams got stuck underground last time, so good call. Weapons, obviously.

[windeity]

Sounds like a good list to me. [But he's still on the bed and he's just kind of pouting.] ...do we have to pack now?

[parodeity]

[ this gets a hard-to-read look, although there's something like but not quite amusement. ]

Yes. Then we can spend the rest of the time we have just hanging out, and not have to rush it.

[windeity]

[...okay, okay, off the bed he's going and he's on his feet, moving over to where Dave is and draping over him. Or like. As best as he can when Dave's two inches taller.] A good last night together before we head off to wherever the fuck?

[ yeah that might make it a little harder? ] Or a good last afternoon, anyway.

[windeity]

Thennn we should plan something good for our last good afternoon together for a while. Packing seriously will not take long.
