Yeah. [ he turns his focus back to whatever school thing he's working on - an essay, maybe? or just workbook problems - to let john eat in peace, apparently not feeling up to expanding on carmen beyond "really cool, like her a lot". ]

[...yeah okay. He finishes the pepperoni and boxes up the rest of the pizza to put in their mini-fridge later before he silently flicks on his own desktop and settles in to work on something, too.

He doesn't exactly know what to say given how things went earlier today. He doesn't want to ask and he doesn't want to rock the boat, so he focuses on his homework instead and leaves Dave to work in silence.]

[ boxing up the pizza gets dave to glance over but he doesn't comment since he Cannot Talk about not eating for the day, and he. pretty much focuses on his schoolwork in silence? after he finishes he'll probably sit up on tumblr or editing comics or something stupid, letting john work in silence too.

[They sure did something. He's working and typing up some notes, occasionally glancing at a separate notebook while he drafts some outlines and everything.

This probably goes on for like an hour.

I'm not going to dictate what everybody else should and shouldn't know or what everybody does and doesn't want! Maybe I was wrong in how we were supposed to approach this, alright? I thought it would help but not with the way things went! [It wasn't even that things were bad, it was just jarring how huge of a rift there was. Was it like this in their universe, too?]

It's the fact that Dave's talking about being the wrong version and remembering Ami's surprise at seeing Dave at all and Karkat apparently knows what happened and he doesn't, why, but that gets him to focus.] Between you and Ami. But I just...she felt really bad about whatever it was, I have no idea what's happening, and I just want to try and fix things for everybody. Including you. Okay? [Because he's frustrated with everything that happened and knowing what he knows and some stuff he's definitely not touching.] Don't try to distract me with game mechanics right now either. Just..okay. You told me exactly why you don't want to tell people things about home. Have you mentioned it to them at all? That you don't want to be the one who happens to trigger something terrible. I think an explaination like that is reasonable.

Not to Vantas, but we've had like, one neutral conversation total in our lives on this side of the scratch. But everyone else? Yes. And I told her the first time she asked me about this that I didn't want to be involved but I'd give her the names of everyone else if she wanted to look them up. So now it's time to move the fuck on, man the fuck up, and just give them the answers they want. Okay? It's not like it'll kill me when they remember dying from things I say. I've lived through worse.
