I think the difference is intent? [ dave's gotten through like half his slice of pizza, slow as fuck because he just. keeps. talking. ] Like. We're not hanging out just to hang out, which describes all of our interactions to date, even when we were makin' out. So it just feels a little different but at the same time it does not feel different? I don't know. I've only had the jitters like once before and they were slapped out of me. Like, hand to my back, not hand to my face.

I am assuming you mean Terezi. [But okay.] So the difference is the intent of making this romantic instead of just hanging out and doing our usual thing. Is that what you mean?

Yes, although admittedly maybe I shouldn't go off of that experience since it ended with her hate-dating a vent-dwelling juggalo behind my back? I am pretty certain that can't happen with you because you aren't into vent-dwelling juggalos, but who knows? Maybe my last rap about Obama was the straw that broke our relationship's back.

I guess it's a little nerve-wracking because I halfway can't believe it's happening but also, I don't want it to stop happening. It's like - okay, Christmas morning with your Dad. You'd get up as early as you could, right, and run downstairs, and it was a good kind of nerves but also you knew eventually you'd hit the end of the presents? ...no, that's not right either.

...you probably could have stuck with a roller coaster metaphor and made it work, but I get it. I think. It's kind of like waiting for the other shoe to drop because it is a new and different thing that you did not think was possible.

Yeah, basically. You can be the metaphor king today. [ ... ] Anyway, I'll be honest: I'm not totally sure what one does on dates besides chill and talk. I mean, movies and what have you would have you believe that dates pretty much always end with interruptions from love triangle points or like, natural disaster, or so on and so forth?

Sweet. [He's laughing to himself, but yeah, Dave has a point.] I am pretty sure we're not due for a natural disaster anytime soon, and none of our friends are here to interrupt so....I'm fine with just chilling and talking with romantic intent.

I mean, what about the skeleton army? I consider them my friends.

Is our date going to wind up with skeletal date-crashers? I'm surprised you got them to back off long enough.

I feel bad fighting them? They're so bad at it.

They're kind of funny. Do you think we can keep some of them and befriend them instead?

I suggested it and Natalie shot me down? So did like, three other people. No one likes my skeleton plan except you.

To be fair, we're also the ones who kept fire-breathing geese so maybe everybody else has a point.

They don't burn us THAT often. [ but they burn them sometimes??? guys????? ] ...also everyone gives me weird looks when I say we kept some.

[He lifts an eyebrow because that sounds like bullshit but okay.] I don't know why. They're pretty okay pets. Plus eggs. [They maybe figured out they needed female geese to make eggs.]

I dunno, they're like, why don't you get chickens? Fuck you guys, there weren't any when we caught the geese? Also they've just got character. I think even geese that don't breathe fire are mean as fuck, actually. Isn't that a thing?

I think so. It's not like I have ever dealt with geese before before we got here. [Shrug!] Anyway chickens are smaller and harder to keep track of.

...I feel like we haven't adopted a new pet in a while and now that I noticed that I feel the intense need to do so.

Well. A lot of the animals around here are not exactly that friendly, dude. What would you even adopt?

Ignis and Damian might be givin' me a kitten? [ eventually their house will be a zoo. ]

[windeity]

Wait what? [Like okay, but also what??] Where did they get kittens?

[parodeity]

I think Damian just had a cat - not the batcat? I'm not clear on this - and Ignis grabbed one from the portal thing, and they got busy. And kittens occurred. Possibly on Ignis's pillow?

[ shrug. ]

Daamian has a cow. It's named the Batcow.

Gross. [Poor Ignis, but also that's kind of funny.] But of course it is. Why wouldn't the cow be named the Batcow? [He finishes a second slice of pizza.]
